Real QuickHands ceiling project
In many Metro Vancouver homes and condos the existing ceiling can stay in place. Instead of scraping and demolishing an older textured ceiling, we can build a clean, modern finished ceiling below it — so the original surface is never disturbed.

Where the existing ceiling is sound and can stay in place, there is no scraping, no tear-out and no disturbance of the original surface.
Avoiding demolition also avoids the costs that come with it — testing before disturbance, abatement by third parties, debris disposal and the full repair of the ceiling afterwards.
Less dust and debris in the home, fewer trades involved, and a finished modern ceiling at the end of the agreed scope.
Important scope note
QuickHands does not perform asbestos abatement. If asbestos is suspected or identified, testing and any required abatement must be completed by qualified third-party professionals before our ceiling work can begin. Leaving an older ceiling undisturbed is not a substitute for testing: if the existing ceiling has to be disturbed, or if asbestos is suspected or identified, testing and any required abatement must be completed by qualified third-party professionals first. Whether a cover-over approach is suitable is confirmed after the ceiling condition and structure are assessed.
Ceiling work only — from removing the old texture to finishing the new surface.
Removal of old, dated ceiling finishes, with the room protected before any work starts.
Skim coating and sanding to bring ceilings to a smooth, even surface ready for finishing.
Patching cracks, seams, small holes and damaged sections found once the texture is removed.
Primer and ceiling paint applied as part of the finishing scope for a clean, uniform result.
Removal, smoothing, repair, priming and painting handled together as one agreed ceiling scope.

In older properties, textured ceiling materials may need to be identified or tested before they are disturbed, in line with applicable BC safety requirements. Ceiling age or appearance alone cannot confirm whether asbestos is present. Once any required testing, abatement and clearance is completed by appropriate third parties, our ceiling work can proceed.
