In many Metro Vancouver homes and condos the existing ceiling can stay in place. Instead of scraping and demolishing an older textured ceiling, we can build a clean, modern finished ceiling below it — so the original surface is never disturbed.

If asbestos is suspected or identified, testing and any required abatement must be completed by qualified third-party professionals before our ceiling work can begin. Leaving an older ceiling undisturbed is not a substitute for testing: if the existing ceiling has to be disturbed, or if asbestos is suspected or identified, testing and any required abatement must be completed by qualified third-party professionals first. Whether a cover-over approach is suitable is confirmed after the ceiling condition and structure are assessed.

What about asbestos?
QuickHands does not perform asbestos abatement. If asbestos is suspected or identified, testing and any required abatement must be completed by qualified third-party professionals before our ceiling work can begin.
In older properties, textured ceiling materials may need to be identified or tested before they are disturbed, in line with applicable BC safety requirements. Ceiling age or appearance alone cannot confirm whether asbestos is present. Once any required testing, abatement and clearance is completed by appropriate third parties, our ceiling work can proceed.
